ESWET Event 2018

How Circular is the Circular Economy?

The association of European Suppliers of Waste-to-Energy Technology would like to thank all the attendees who joined us on Tuesday,
29th of May 2018, for our annual event. During the evening, with the support of high-level speakers from the industry and European institutions, we tried to answer the crucial question: How Circular is the Circular Economy?

The event started with a presentation of Mr Hubert de Chefdebien, Chairman of the ESWET Technical Committee, highlighting the added value of bringing back energy from non-recyclable materials in a circular economy and the importance of quality recycling.

A panel debate followed to further discuss possible synergies between Waste-to-Energy and Circular Economy, with special reference to the paper industry, represented by Mr Jori Ringman from CEPI, and the initiatives adopted by the European Commission explained by Mr José Jorge Diaz del Castillo from DG Environment.

See you next year!
